Instant lift

Adding fresh flowers to a room gives it an instant lift, white tulips are one of my favorites.  These bring a smile to my face everyday.

TRADhome magazine

The newest TRADhome is live.  It's a beautiful issue and had me at the cover with those pops of green!  A couple of my favorites so far are the video color conversation between Celerie Kemble and Jamie Drake and Shopping: New Orleans, but I'm not close to being finished.  There's something for everyone :)

Tolix chairs

Although I've seen these chairs in cafes and coffee shops, it wasn't until learning about the design of Eggshell Bistro that my interest was really peaked and now I'm slightly obsessed. The chair was designed in 1934 by a Frenchman named Xavier Pauchard. In 1907, Pauchard discovered he could prevent sheet metal from rusting by galvanizing it. Shortly after, he began making steel household goods, eventually registering his trademark as Tolix, which is the name of the company to this day. The chairs were originally designed to be all-weather outdoor chairs, but can be found in private homes and public spaces indoors and out. The company was family owned until 2004. The Tolix chair is in the MoMA, the Pompidou Centre in Paris and the Vitra design collection in Weil am Rhein, Germany.
They are versatile, durable, stackable and comfortable. Antiquaire offers them in any color. The cost is about $275 each with vintage costing more. Knock-offs are available for about $135.
Would love a set of these for my kitchen!

Domino quick fixes p.s.

After looking forward to a new special edition of Domino Magazine, I have to agree with this article from the Washington Post.

It sums up my thoughts and disappointment exactly.

"Quick Fixes is a 128-page glossy that combines some of the most popular images and tips from the Domino archives with new and updated content.
But the issue, which was put together without input from any of the former top Domino editors, lacks the personality, innovation and insider design info the magazine was known for. Instead, Quick Fixes reads like a Decorating 101 primer; one we’ve already read."  :(

Herringbone sisal runner

Our new herringbone sisal runner from High Street Market is a winner!  It's stylish and durable and sits in our back hallway where everyone, including the dog with her wet and sometimes muddy paws, comes in the house.  Love it!
